Brainstorming Proposal Argument

For my proposal argument I decided to write about the use of "performance-enhancing" drugs. Many people are aware of this problem so I will probably focus more on the solutions and necessary actions that should be taken to address the problem. The use of "performance-enhancing" drugs is a growing scandal and problem among professional and collegiate athletes. This problem is hurting many sports and is very dangerous to the players who use these drugs. There have been many cases where players have tested positive for these "performance-enhancing" drugs and something needs to be done to fix this problem. The solutions to "performance-enhancing" drugs being used that I am going to focus on are that they need to be banned in every sport, and every sport needs to test their athletes often. Every sport has different punishments for using these drugs. I am going to talk about how each sport handles the problem and the actions that they are taking to get rid of these drugs. I think that this is a really interesting topic because I am an athlete myself and I really love to watch professional and collegiate games. It really disappoints me that these players are using these drugs and some are getting away with it or getting minor punishments. I think that this is a serious problem because it affects the athletes well-being and the sport they are part of.

I think you have chosen a good topic. I feel that is important for athletes to know the dangers and consequences they face if they take "enhancing performing drugs". I am an athlete as well and I fell really bad when I see or hear in the news about a professional athlete that tested positive for steroids. It also makes me angry because the athletes are not playing by the rules and are just trying to find the easy way out. I feel that it is good that you are focusing on this topic because I feel that it is a big problem amongst our sports today.

I think that this argument is a great topic to discuss, especially because it is so recent and people are talking about it today and are aware of it. I'm an athlete as well and whenever I hear on the news that an athlete tested positive for a steroid, it makes me sick to my stomach. I think that athletes need to be aware of what harm they are doing to their body and many times these athletes that take these steroids have no idea how many side effects they have. This effects everyone in the sports world and I think that this is a very intriguing topic to discuss. Looking forward to reading your paper.

Great topic. I think this is a bigger problem than some people realize because a lot of athletes do not get caught. Your solution could include possible punishments and I honestly think that they should be harsher than they are at the moment. I feel like most people get away with just a slap on the hand. You could also add somewhere about how the media and pressure to excel might play a part in the athlete's decision to take the drugs.

Like everyone else, I think this is a really good topic. Athletes continue to use performance enhancing drugs without really knowing or understanding the consequences. Without these drugs, it provides a level playing field for the athletes and doesn't give any advantages. Most of these athletes have no idea what they're putting in their body or how it can harm them longterm.
