Angle of Vision Image

For this blog I chose an image that was agaisnt drunk driving. The image I chose was of a woman who had been in a drunk driving accident. She was hit by a drunk driver and survived the accident. The woman's face is in the image and you can see that she was injured and her face was permanently damaged. The woman's face was the first thing that caught my eye. The picture of her was so sad that immediately I felt bad for the woman. The writing on the image says, "Not everyone who gets hit by a drunk driver dies." After you see the picture of the woman, the picture of the woman before the accident and you read the caption, you become very persuaded that drunk driving is a horrible thing. I think that the picture of the woman was the most persuasive part of the image but the text on the image was also eyecatching. Not only does it remind you that drunk driving is bad but it makes you think about the people who were survivors of drunk driving and what they have to live with for the rest of their lives. The angle of vision is defintely apparent in this image and I think that it is very effective.

I think you're reaction to the advertisement is exactly what the ad is trying to do. It appeals to the emotions of the viewer which when done well can be very effective at persuasion. I think in an argument that can bring up alot of emotion, such as drunk driving, using images of victims is a good way to take advantage of those emotions to convince readers not to do a bad thing. Sadly, too many people are incapable of being persuaded until something bad happens to them or someone close to them. I agree with your observation of how the ad helps relate the viewer to the people, which helps in the appeal to the ethos of the argument.

I think this ad is a great example of persuasion and what they are trying to get the viewer to see. Feeling guilty and having sympathy for the woman is the main point in this ad. The image is trying to get people to stop drinking and driving and for people to see what happens to people that get in a drunk driving accident. This ad definitely appeals to the emotions of the viewer. This definitely is an eye catching ad and makes you not want to drink and drive!

I think that this is an extremely effective image to write about because who in there right mind would see this image and think that they want to go drink and drive? Especially when they see the results. It is clear that the image is showing the effects of drunk driving and it makes the viewer very sympathetic towards this image. I think that we can all relate to images such as these since we have seen numerous commercials about drunk driving, and this just adds to the message that its wrong.

I think this was a great persuasive ad to choose. We always hear about drunk driving and what it can do to people's lives, but we never actually see the aftermath. Here, we see the woman, before and after, thus evoking sympathy in us for the woman, and what the rest of her life will be like. This ad will hopefully be able to convince people not to drink and drive, because this could be the consequence, or worse someone dying.
